This morning Inspector Culleri received ft telegram from Constable Scott, statioiied at Aratapi,!, to the effect thdt Captain Olsbn's boat had 'jeun iotind at Fitzgerald? beach, near Port Albert river; The boat had evidently capsized, through the main sheet having been made fast. °\Vhen found the boat was half buried in the sand. It will be membered that Captain Olsen, of the barque City of Agra, now, lying at Kaipara Heads, left the vessel in one of the ship's boats on the Ist instant, taking some fishing lines with him. As he never returned Captain Robertson of the tug Sterling made a search on the 4th instant all along the shore, but without success. Henry Cowan received injuries on polling day by falling over a face at Binnockburn, which proved fatal. He was not found till mid-day on Friday. He was al>ve then, but died shortly after. The verdict was accidental death. He was 37. and leaves a widow and family.

The oliicial declaration of the poll for the city shows a slight increase of votes as follows-—Millar 9045, Arnold 8290, Barclay 7363, Mackenzie 6726, Sligo 6415, Haynes 4919, Chapman 1222; informal 463.

In Caversham the official returns fhow that Morrison polled 2867 votes, and Warren 1752, while there were 56 votes informal.
