DIVORCE CASE.

A divorce suit, in whioh petitioner and respondent are both half-oaetes, came on for hearing at tho Supreme Court, tho petitioner being Benjamin Anderson, respondent Maria Anderson, and the ooreapondent James Lynoh. Mrlheo. Co.per appeared for the petitioner. Tho was do appsarance of either respondent or oorespondent Benjamin Anderson said hia Maori name was Pene Aneano. Bib father's name was Anderson, but being a cooper by trade, he was o-lled by the Maoris Kupa. On tho 10th January, 1883, he was married to n, half oaste called Maria Dihars, daughter of of a Frenchman. Be was married in the Maori-ifnglish church by the ftev Wirimu Tatipona. After six years he separated from his wifo, because the had been unfaithful. She admitted to him that she had improper relations with the co respondent. Then they separated. The 00-respondent stopped at witocsse's place for a week, and knew that tho respondent was the wife of witness
Peter T.ynoh, bush contractor, deposed ho retided at the Thames Co-respondent, James .Lynch, was his son. Witness had a place at Uhinemuri iv 1890. Mrs Audorbcn pai_ a visit to them six or seven years ago. He noticed an iutimaoy between his son and Mrs Anderson growing, and ordered her to go home, tie did not see anything aotnnlly improper. Witness told Mrs Anderson it was not becoming for her to knook about so much with n young fellow like his son Mrs Anderson then went homo shortly afterwards witness's son oeased to live at homo fcomo years after-w-tdn hia eon cams to work for him at Whuntfamata. His son and Mrs Anderson were then living together in the same whare as man ax.d wifo Witness knew his son was aware these proceedings were instituted. He also knew that petitioner treated his wife very well. His Honor granted a decree nisi with oosts against the co-respondent. Leave was given to apply for a decree absolute after three months.
