Is a very handsome, powerfully built dark-brown pony entire, five years old, stands about 14 handß high on short, strong legs, with good bone and splendid trotting action. He waß late the property of the famous Welsh studmaßter, Mr _D. Morgan, Newmead, Diseerth, Radnorshire. His sire the well-known Welsh pony The Flyer, winner of a prize in 1890 and two prizes at the Builth Wells show, 1891; grandsire Welsh Flyei-, who as a sire waa celebrated over the whole of Wales; g. grandsire Old Welsh Flyer ; g. g. grandsire Old Comet. YOUNG COMET'S dam, a fast trotting pony mare, by Young Kainbow, whioh was sold in Wales for £300, and was got by Rainbow, by King George, who was sold in Wales for £375 ; granddam by the noted trotting cob Kiddwen Flyer; g. granddam by Young Telegraph, who was got by the famous Old Comet out of an unbeaten trotting mare. Thus YOU«G COMET inherits the fastest trottiDg blood in the principality of Wales, and traoea baok on both aides of hia pedigree to Old Comet, who was one of the moat celebrated trotting cobs of his day in the world. BETTER DAYS has a good record on the turf, and the following are some of his winning performances :—At the Poona Sky Races, on August 9th, 1888, he won the Open Pony Baco, three-quarters of a mile, oarrying 9at 71b aud beating Suspense (10st 121b), Manderin (Bst 131b), and Shimlan (Bst 71b), Arab ponies, and Bruiser, a country-bred who carried (Bat 13lb). At the Armeduagar Races on the 16th August, he walked over for tho Pony Derby, half a mile, frightening his opponents away. At the Nathiawar Races in Deoember of last year he won the Pony Plato of 350 rupees, carrying lOst 61b, beating Scandal (Ost lib). At Calcutta Monsoon Races, August, 1890, he won the Highover Plate, a hurdle raoe for country-bred ponies 14 hands and under, one mile, over six flights. In this race he carried Uat 21b, John Bull (lOst 71b), Cardinal (9st 121b), Crumbs (list 21b), Tom King (list 21b), and Suffolk Punch following him home, his nearest attendant being six lengths off at the finish. At the same plaoe, later on in the month, he won in hollow style the Kiddipur Jfurse, a handioap hurdle race for all ponies, one mile, and in this event he carrie > Hat 71b to the front, Free Lance, a grey Arab pony with a number of creditable performances, being the one to run second in a field of eight, carrying list to Wallajah (9st 4lb) and winning several, races. Little Sampson, an Australian pony who had oarried as big'weights aa 12at in some of his raoes, Sparks and Cardinal also ran. His last winning performance was carrying lOst to viotory in the Pony Plate, five furlongs, beating Lady Jane (Arab) Bst 31b, Unole Sam (Australian) Bat 81b, Minnette (Australian) 9st 101b, Light Wings (f.ngliah) 9at 121b, Cherub (Australian) 9st 111b, Sarah (Arab) Bst 121b, and Ake Ake (Australian) Bst 91b. In this raoe it will be seen that ho carried top weight, and the account of the race is abort—" won eaaily." The Australian and English representatives, Minnette and Light Wings, are winners of big races.
