A tragedy is reported from Camperdown, a western suburb of Sydney. Ezra Abrahams, a Jewish lolly vendor and a married man with a family, became infatuated with Miss Goodaore. He pestered her with his attentions, but she refused all advances. The couple mot in the street this afternoon, and she endeavored to avoid Abrahams, who drew a revolver and fired three shots at her, the bullet* lodging in her arms and back. The ruffian then fired two shots into hid own abdomen. Abrahams is in a critical oondition, but the girl, though seriously wounded, is likely to recover. Three moro of the aboriginals at Mountfern who drank the deoootion supplied to them by a man named Kelly iv mistake for rum have succumbed, making five victims in all. At the inquest Kelly gave evidenoe that he obtained the bottle from a certain shop. Ho was intoxicated at the time, and believing tho contents to be rum drank some himself and gava the blacks a drink. He himself suffered severely from what he had drunk.
