At tha District Court A. F. Laureneon was admitted to probation for nix months on a charge of failing to keep proper books to show bis financial position, and ordered to pay costs (£25). George Storey, charged with opening a letter, was admitted to probation for twelve months, and ordered to pay costs of prosecution and fiud one surety for £1.000.
Wellington, This day. Tsro men were charged to-day with illegilly taking fiah from the Waiuui river by shooting them with a qua. They were fined £5 eacb, and costs 265.
For wet and cold waather — Ladies' waterproof cloaks, cloth jaokets, capes, and ulates; als) children's and maida' cloth jacket*, capes, end mackintoshes. A large assortment. Neal and Oloso's.
