Ahuriri, which left here yesterday afternoon for Waimarama, returned to pott at 5 p.m the same day. On arrival at Waimarama the sea was found too rough to land any of the cargo, so Captain Tonkin deemed it advisable to return to port. The Union Company's s s. Moa, Captain Braidwood, arrived from Wellington at 5 o'olock this morning. While in Wellington she was thoroughly renovated A new Saloon companion has been fitted in, a ladies' oabin provided, besides Eeveral extra berths Improvements have been made throughout, making the Moa a oomfortable little passenger and cargo steamer, the landed about 30 tons en the breast-work this morning, and was engaged this afternoon taking in posts, wool, and general cargo. She leaves for northern ports at 10 o'olook to-night. The barque Kate Tatham, from Newcastle, is now due at this port, and should put in an appearance at any time. She brings a full load of co:il for her owners, Messrs Tait and Mills. The s.s Kahu left Wellington last night. She calls at Oastlepoiut, and is due her 9 tomorrow morning. The bs. Te Kapu ia blocked in the Wairoa river through the bad state of the bar. It is uncertain when she will get out. The Union Company's s.s. Mararoa, whioh left Sydney yesterday, ia due here next Tuesday, when sb.6 will be despatched for Wellington and Lyttelton. The s.s. Kawatiri, which left the Bluff last Monday for this port via Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru, leaves the latter port on Saturday next lor Napier. She does not call at Lyttelton, being a full ship on leaving Timaru. The steamer Mararoa and Tasmania left Sydney for Auckland yesterday.
