The inept ctors recently in conference have reported to tho Minister fer Kdueation on their prooeediDgs. Respecting the system of testing the work of the schools by standard passes they say that while aware of the disadvantages of the system, they highly appreciate the service it has done to primary education, and they cannot at present 83e their way to recommend its abolition. They are extremely pleased at the good results tho conference ia likely to bring about by an interchange of views, and the insight gained into the working methods in operation in the various districts.
