CHBisrcHOBCH, This day. The cricket match New Zealand v. New South Wales was commenced at Lancaster Park this morning, when the weather was threatening, heavy olouds hanging about. New South Wales won the toss, and went in first on a wioket that had been protected from the rain. _ Maokenzie and Gould were the first pair* of batsmen, Lawtou and Robertson being the bowlera. Runs came steadily, principally from Robertson's deliveties, and after a quarter of an hour's play, 10 appeared on the board. 1.30 p.m. With the score at 23 Robertson dismissed Gould with a bailer. 23—1—11.
