Shipping at the poit was at a standstill to-day, owing to the rain. The Onion Company's c.c. Talune, 1303 tons, Captain Todd, from Melbourne and southern ports, anchored in the roadstead at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Her dates of departure are aa follows: —Left Melbourne at 4 p.m. on the 3rd inst, cleared the Heads at 8 p.m. the same day, passed Swan Island at 1 p m. on the 4th, and arrived at Hobart on the sth ; left again the same day, arrived off Milford Sound on the Bth, after steaming to the head of sime prooeeded on her voyage to the Bluff, where she arrived at 3 p.m. on the 9th ; left Bluff the same day; called at Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington, and arrived as above. Experienced fine weather and light variable winds throughout the voyage. The last launch taking the outward passengers left the wharf at 7 p.m. The Talune left the bay for northern ports and Sydney at 10 p.m. The s.s. Australia left Wellington at s.\b p.m. yesteiday, and is due here at 5 o'olock this evening. She brings a large cargo of 120 tons, which will be landed to-morrow, and after discharge will steam for northern ports at 4 p.m. the same day. The s,s. Te Kapu took ou board a cargo of timber yesterday, and steamed for Wairoa at 5 o'clock this morning.

The Union Company's s s. Dingadee left Auckland at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. Bhe has 80 tons to land at this port, and is expected to arrive on Saturday morning. After discharge she will leave for Wellington, where »he goes on the Blip for an overhaul. The lighter Why Not went on the. hard this morning, where she is being thoroughly cleaned and scraped. The s.s. Fanny, due this morning from the coaßt, had not arrived up- to the time out report left the Spit. She is probably detained through the bad weather on the coast.

The Rotomahana arrived at Melbourne from the Bluff yesterday.
