Wellington, Thia day. Mr George Didsbury, Government Printer, died late last night, after a ehort xUaeee, aged 54. For some time previous to his illneaa he had been suffering from diabetes, and about ten days ago was attacked with peritonitis. He took to hie bed on Sunday, but his weakened constitution was unable to stand the strain and he gradually sank. He was born in New South Walea, and in his infancy was brought to New Zealand by his parents, who nettled at Kororareka, Bay of lelaads, Jthen the only town in the colony. Deoeasod served his apprenticeship as a printer st the establishment of Messrs Williamson and Wilson, proprietors of the New Zealander newspaper, Auckland, and was appointed Government Priottrin 1865. In baeineie circles he was well known as a director of the Gear Meat Company and the Palmerston North Gas Company. He leaves a widow and family of five eons and two daughter*, moat of whom are growz> up.
