"VTOTIOE is hereby given that a Special JLI Meeting of the Puketapu Road Board will he held on FRIDAY, the 20th November, 1891, at Puketapu, to consider the following resolution: — Resolved—That it be a Special Order of the Puketapu Road Board that tho provisions of Local Bodies Loans Act, 1886, be adopted generally in tbe Puketapu Road District. JOHN BENNETT, I Chairman. HAWKE'S BAY CO-OPERATIVE BAKERY, LIMITED. To he registered under " The Companies Act." CAPITAL £5000, IN 5000 SHARES OF £1 EACH, Payable 5s per Share on application, 2s 6d on allotment, 2s 6d in three months, and the balance in Calls not to exceed 2s 6d per Share ac intervals of not less than three months. It ia not expected that more than 10s per Sharo will be called up. Bankers: Solicitors: Messes Guy and Dinwiddie. Seoretary and Treasurer (pro tern): D.N. Adams. The proposed Association is to be formed for the purpose of carrying on the business of a Co-operative Bakery in Napier, and the promoters having an opportunity of purchasing a well-established business (Mrs Lang's), whioh is capable of considerable extension, and of retaining _ the Proprietress as Ma nager, at least for a time, have every confide nee in recommending the proposal to heads of Households. It is proposed to limit the number of Shares to be held by any one person to (say) 50, it being recognised that the success of the undertaking will, to an extent, depend upon the numbe rr. of individual shareholders —each shareholder naturally being a customer, and so increasing the consumption and consequent profit. At present the business it is proposed to purchase has a, turnover exceeding_£soo per month, and this can be largely increased without entaciling any considerable expense. The succetss of similar Associations in other centres leaves no room to doubt that under compe tent management controlled by a careful Board of Directors, satisfactory reaults may be expected. As soon as 1500 Shares are applied for, Memorandum and Articles of Association will be prepared and Directors appointed. All moneys paid in.respect of Shares will be refunded in the event of the Company not being floated. n_tr'NEsiiTTr HASTINGS STREET, 13 SELLING FOR READY MONEY (STRICTLY READY CASH ONLY: NO BOOKING):— No. 3 SUGAR, 8s 6d the 401b bag; No. 2, 9s 6d the 401b bag; No. 1, 9s 9d the 401b bag; Brown Sugar, for Beermaking, 2£d per lb; Best Cut Loaf, 4d i per lb 1 NEW OATMEAL—3s the 251b bag !
