The services in conneotion with the Wesleyan Home Mission yesterday were all well attended. In the- morning the Rev. J. Duke, of Masterton, occupied the pulpit, and in the evening the service was conducted by the Rev. Hauraki Paul, of Kaipara. Mr Paul is a Maori convert. In English, he is a very fair speaker, and his sermon in Trinity Church last night ehowed considerable biblical and historical knowledge. It was a Bomewhat novel feature to. see a native addressing his white brethren, but Mr Paul's sermon, while short, was in plain English, and to the point. In his own simple way he appealed to the congregation to lead Christian lives, and pointing out tho things of nature, he asked them to offer up blefesinga for a wonderful creation. At the conclusion he gave a prayer in Maori, which showed him to be a very fluent speaker in his own tongue. This evening in Trinity Church the mission services will be further continued, when Mr Paul will give an account of his work amongst his own race.
