The shearers' strike has officially b9en declared oil. Some uneasiness was felt in the city yesterday owing to the action of Casey, the organiser of the Labor Federation, who, in addressing the men at Baroaldine, advised them to demand that the Government should either find work for them or send them to gaol. Subsequently Casey incited the men to burn out a storekeeper, when ke was promptly taken into custody, and will be charged with the offence.
EARTHQUAKES IN TASMANIA. Launckston, This day. . Several shocks of earthquake have been felt at Stevarep, eighty miles eust of here, during the last few days, which are the first experienced since the Tarawera eruption in New Zealand, in 1886.
