BOWLING.
The local oowlers have received an- intobit, on to take part in the tournament jit Christchurch, but have had to decline. j bowlers are reserving themselves for the * gathering at Auckland at Easter, which will be the first tournament under the auspices of the Northern Bowling , tioh formed at Wellington last year. Should the steamers be up to time on, Saturday, which at time of writing is fully expected, Gisborne will send two rinks- of bowlers to contest with the local plavere. As this is the first contest between these two young clubs, much interest will be tafeen m it. The green is iv capital order, and as there will ho no admission a large attendance- of spectators may bs-SS-pected to put in an appearance. The locat —*^^^l players will be choaen to-morrow.
