CHRISTMAS AT DUNEDIN.

Ditnkdin, This day. Tho weather was fine yesterday, though at intervals little sunshine showers fell, but not enough to damage the ground. The town was almost de.-erted, the steamer excursions being largely availed of, while many went to tho Hibernian sports at Sawyer's Bay, tbe Waititi show, and private monks. The Good Templars' sports on the Caledonian Ground were poorly patronised. The rctratta at Port Chalmers was well attended. On Christmas Day the inmates of the Dunedin Hospital sat down to a dinner with a large number of visitors, and tbe Baud played in the grounds. The boys at the Industrlpl School wero also entertained at v special spread.
