The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (limited) report as follows :—We held our usual monthly sale of oddments of wool, sheepskins, hides, &c, at our Spit store yesterday. The trade was fairly represented, and all lots except hides changed hands at ourrent ruling rates. Oddm*ontß of wool wero well competed for, and were quitted at the following quotations :—Crossbred 6|d per lb, locks 3|d, pieces sd, lambs Sheepskins.—Tho market was easier for all de«criptions, and sales wero as follows:—Half-bred np to 6|d per lb, crossbred sjd, merino 6|d, pelt* lid. and lambskins la 5d each. Tallow in casks, mediun quality, made from 15s io 17s per owt. Hides.—All prime lots were passed in, biddings not reaching vendor's ideas of value. Only damaged and slipey sorts were disposed of at from id to Id per lb, according to condition, calfskins realised from Id to ljd per lb. For our second wool sale, to be held on the 2nd January, wool is coming freely to hand, and with the improved state of tho market at Home, we look forward to a highly satisfactory salo.

Messrs F W. Williams and Kettle report as follows :—An average number of buyers attended our usual monthly sale yesterday of shof.pskins, o.ldments of wool, tallow, and hides. We submitted 2290 phoopskins, 9 fadges, au-1 SO bags of wool, 17 packages and 18 casks of tallow, and 67 bides. In confiWjuenco of fellmongers being fully supplied competition was not so keen as usual. Sheepskins showed a marked decline in values. Good orossbreds made from 5Jd to 6§d, fair half-breds to 6d ; merino 5d to 6|d, hoggets 4d to 1 Jil, pelts 3d to 8d each ; double fleece 3|d. Oddments of wool in bags sold well. Crossbred locks Ifd to Sj-d, merino do 3jjd, orutohings 3-Jd, dead wool GJ-d, black 4gd ; lambs 6id ; pieces 4d to 6g-d ; Lincoln ram scoured fleece 9d, do pieces 7Jd, crossbred fleeoe 6d to Tillow aud Fat.—Rough Id to IJd per lb in bags, fair rendered £15 to £16 per ton in casks. Hideß were in very bad condition, insufficiently salted, dirty, and carelessly put up. Sales were therefore difficult to effect and prices proportionately low. We would call our clients' attontion to our printed circular upon " Hide - curing." Slipey and damaged hides sold at from id to Id per lb, cow hides 1 Jd to medium ox 2d, heavy ox 3d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Compauy (limited) have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated 19tb inst. :—"Frozen meat. — Tho mutton market is firmer, and the prico has advanced -Jd per lb since last report. The beef market is also firmer. Tallow.— Marketeasier, but quotations aro unchanged since our last telegram. New Zealand him p.—The market is dull. Medium is worth £23 per ton."
