Alexander McGregor, coal miner, foil down the dh.ift of tho Kumo Company , h coal mine this morning, and was smashed to nieces.
The annual dog show was opened to-day. Tho entries uro more numerous ihrtn uniial. Further tents made by Mr Leslie McArthur, of Puhipuhi ore, give tho following results:—Young Colonial, 1034 ounces of silver ; Try Fluke, 735 ounces; No. 3 Company, 22S ounces; No 1 Prospector*, 815 ounces.
