SECOND—The new Assurance business ef-octod was for £3,(579,459. THIRD—The Now Annual Premium Income amounted to £121,800. FOURTH—The net increase to the business, after allowing for loss of income from terminated Policies was represented by 7028 Policies, assuring £•2109,199. FIFTH-The operations of the year raised the annual income of tho Society from £1,512,280 to £1, .25,18.., an iuoreasom twelve months of £112,905. SIXTH—The Accumulated Fund was increased during the year by the sum of £742,3 11, tipnd to " ! P er ceut - of tho gross premiums received. SEVENTH—The deaths among lives assured were 049 under 73") policies, causing claims upon the Society amounting to £299,002, irrespective of Bonus addition,, while the number ospeated according t.."the Tables used ir. estimating the liabilities would havo been 11-13, for an amount of £438,970, the mortality experience being thus extremely favorable. EIGHTH—The receipts from interest and rents were £510,8.2, an amount exceed ing the sum paid for the claims by £1'35,1).VNlNTtt—The oxaensea cf Management were only .'. per cent of the total receipts. ...... _i TENTH—-The cash surplus divided lor tuo year 18S9 was £420,-19-1, being at the rate oi 41-5 per cent on tho premiums received. . .
