FIGHTING AT MATABELAND

There is an unconfirmed .eporf at Lisbon that-a detachment of British and Africans had a severe engagement with the natives of Matabeland and that the former lost 200 men.
PASTORAL FROM THE IRISH BISHOPS.
The Irish Bishops hnve issued a pastoral appealing to the British Government to avert the deplorable results of the potato blight, and condemning boycotting and the plan of campaign.
