The trade remains dull and unchanged, and tntirely limited to the actual requirements of tho time. Thero is no change in prices, which are as follows : — Best Canterbury sheep, 2h "d to 2s 8d per stone of Sib; second quality Canterbury and Napiors and Wellingtons, 2s -id to 2s Gd; best Canterbury lambs, 3s to 3s 4d ; hindquarters beef, 2s Gd to 2s 8d; forequarters beef. Is ed to Is Sd. Ist September, 1890.—For the past week tho demand ■WE.B about the same as noticed previously, which is not sufficient to reduce tho large stock now hold in London, and until the demand is such that it keeps pace with tho arrivals, and reduces tho boforc-mentioned stocks as well, we cannot hope for any improvement in prices ; still, wo think this ■will come before many weeks, at least an increased demand for fairly good and vory choice sheep. Wo foar it will be found thnt many of the shipments have quite a proprotion of very plain and rough or wasteful sheep. Those will bo difficult to niovo, and prices will bo bad, and we append a special quotation herewith—Best Canterbury fiheep, '2s 7d to 2a Sd per stone of Sib; second quality Canterbury find Napiers and Wellingtons, 2s 4d to 2s Gd ; very plain, rough, and wasteful, Isßdto 2s I'd; bent Uunturbiiry lambs, 3s to 3.4 2d : hindquarters beef, 2h Id to 2s Gd; foroqiwrtera beef, Is Gd to Is Bd.
