SUICIDE.
CituiSTCiiUßCit, This day. A young man named W. Pomeroy Vernon committed suicide about noon to-day by shooting himself under tho right ear. Death must have been instantaneous. Vernon, who was well connected, came here from Dunedin, and was in the employ of Messrs Wigram Bros., malsters. He has been suffering from insomnia, and taking laudanum. Probably ho was under the influence of this drug when he committed the deed.
