To-night tho acceptances for the following events for the Napier Park Racing Club's spring meeting close at 10 p.m. :— Trial Handicap Hurdles, October Stakes Handioap, Park Stakes Handicap, Handicap Hurdle Race, Ahuriri Handicap, Sanling Stages, and Railway Handioap.

Tho acceptances for all the events for the Town and Suburban meeting, and entries for tho Maiden Plate and Selling Race, also close at 9 o'clock to-night.

Tho amateur athletio sports will take place to-morrow afternoon on tho Recreation Ground. As the programme is a long and varied one, punctuality will be insisted on. The first event will start sharp at a quartor past two o'clock. Mr Hompton, tho amateur champion, w ill be a competitor, and tho prizes will be distributed on tho ground. Tho prizes are on view in Mr Craig's window. The starting to-morrow will be on tho Sydney plan.

Ormondo, the horse of a century, wil shortly return from Buenos Ayres to Eng land.

At the International Cycling meeting, held in Belgium the other day, both the one and two mile trioyclo championships fell to an Irishman called Stadnicki. An Englishman named Crump filled second place in both events.

On tho bowling-green to-morrow the annual match between teams chosen by the president and secretary will be played. As both aro thoroughly acquainted with the merits of the playors, a good game may be anticipated. Playors are requested to bo on tho ground early, so that play may commence at three o'clock sharp.
