In the dates of nominations for the Napier Park Racing Club's meeting certain entries are duo on "Friday, October 4th." This should read Friday, October 3rd. The error appears in the book form or the programme. At the September meeting of the V A T.C. at Oaulficld the Two-Year-Old Handicap was won by the favorite, Lady Carbine, by Nordonfoldt-Mersey. In the last event, as in the first, New Zealand was to'the fore, for the Rosstown Handicap, six furlong-*, was won by Town Moor, by St. Lesrer-"liiss Laura. The three-year-old «' when he returned to the weighing yard, looked as though he had swum across a river," co says a report. Cuirassier, it appears, did not make his Australian debut in the Craven Plate on the second day of the A.J.C. Spring- meeting. He was a starter in the Spring Stakes on the Derby Day, and finished last in a field /• * of nine. Carbine won by half-a-dozen lengths, and Gresford, Sir William, and Melos rail a dead heat for second place. The other starters were Prince Consort, Autams, Argosa, and Prelude.
