POLLING DAY.
Wellington, This day. The Government havo not yet fixed tho polling day. Several registrars having asked for an extension of time iv which to purge the rolls, tho Government are considering the advisability of doing so. _ If the request is granted the elections will not take plitoe until the end of November; but, ou the other hand, if tho Government decline to accede to the request tho polling will probably take place early iv November.
