A WARNING TO COUNTY COUNCILS.

Judge Ward gave judgment in an action for damages for injuries through a horse putting its foot through the plank on a country road bridge. The Judge hold that it was the duty of the Council to keep bridges on county roads in repair, whilst in continuous use by ordinary traffic. As the weight of the evidence showed the plank was worn and rotten, the Council had not used reasonable diligence and were consequently responsible.
