The Maryiebouo Crickot Club lost six wickets in unking tho 44 required to win. Ferris secured four of them for 22, and Turner two for 20. A mooting of tho Hawko's Bay RugbyUnion was held yesterday, Mr Logan occupying tho chair. The Wellington Uuiou asked for an explanation from tho referee regarding the alleged insulting behavior of one. of the Wellington team. Mr Logan will forward a statement of the occurrence. The Union could not postpone the fixture Taradale v. County 2nd, and it must he played onJSaturday at Farndon. In reference to tho protest of the Rangers Club, tho County team admitted playing a senior man, but tho Rangers had sixteen players on their side. Tho letter was referred to the latter Club. Tho secretary of the Recreation Ground Company applied for payment for use of tho ground in connection with tho Rugby Union sports. It was explained that tho directors of tho Company had assured the members of the Union that no charge would be made beyond the £1-10 for the ground should the Union decide to hold a sports gathering, when the last payment of £00 was made to the company, Mr Fielder stated that unless the claim was satisfied the Union would not be permitted to hold the sports ou tho Recreation Ground. It was resolved that the secretary of tho company be informed that the demand was a breach of faith, and no further payments than those agreed upon and already given would bo made. R-: tho Gisborno "match, tho boisterous weather prevented the team from going north this moining, and it was decided that should tho weather moderate, the team go on Sunday, the match to be played, if possible, ou tho Monday.
