Days of Old, his dam, was also the dam of Rose of Australia, one of the grandest and gamest of Australian turf performers. She ran the famous 1< ishhook to a head in that memorable struggle for the Sydney Cup, having seventeen of the crack horses of the Australian colonies behind her, amongst them such celebrities as Tim Whiiner, Volunteer, Tarragon, Yattendon, Tally-rand. She is also own sister to the beautiful mare Days of Yore, champion prize taker at the Sydney Exbibition, open to all the Australian colonies. PATRIARCH was a very fist and game horse. His performances were to win the Randwick Nursery Handicap, the Victorian Racing Club Hauuior.p, second for tho Sydney Cup, giving a year and 2lbs away to the'winrier (got by Yattendon also), and finishing iv front of Ace, Dagwortb, and thirteen others.
