A POPULAR NATIVE COURT JUDGE.
Kaikouka, This day
Colonel Trimble, Native Judge, concluded the sitting of the Court here on Saturday. The work was of an involved character, being tho settlement of claims in abeyance since 1859, every day's delay having rendered tho matttr more intricate. Tho Maoris express approbation of the proceedings, both as to tho decisions of the Judge, and as to tho pains taken by him to arrive at an equitable settlement. At a feast held by them on Friday evening they cheered Colonel Trimblo to tho echo.
