PORT OF NAPIER.
ARRIVALS,
July. 15—Glencairn, schooner, from Thames. Put iv for repairs. 15—Fairy, s.s., from Gisborne. Richardson and Co., agents. 16--Te Kapu, s.s., from Wairoa. Smith and Provis, agents.
The schooner which arrived in the bay yesterday afternoon turned out to be the Glencairn. She came in here to replace her main-boom, which she lost during some heavy weather. She will not, however, be able to obtain one, and will have to do with a make-shift. She was ou a voyage from the Thames to Lvttelton.
The Weka had not returned from the coast when our report left tho Spit. The Te Kapu arrived from Wairoa at 1 p.m. to-day. Some anxiety is beginning to be felt for the safety of the barquentine Pendle Hill, Captain Widerstrom, which left hero on 19th June for Sydney, and had not arrived this morning. The direction of the wind has been principally easterly since the Pendle Hill left, so one can hardly aocouut for her long passage, especially as Captain Widerstrom is so well known for his swift passages. The Duke of Sutherland is expected to steam for Wellington to-morrow ovening. To the Editor : Sir,—Will you kindly correct the error iv »ome of the officers names appearing in your report of the s.s. Duke of toutherfand.—Chief officer, T. B. Parry ; chief engineer, G. Neale ; surgeon, Dr. M. J. McDonogh.—l am &c, Officer.
