DUPLICATE CABLES.
Wellington, This day. Tho Postmaster-General has received a cable from Mr. O'Connor, PostmasterGunoral of New South Wales, stating that the proposal of the Eastern Extension Company to lay a duplicate cable between that colony and New Zealand was to bo considered in Cabinet yesterday, but the result of the deliberations had not yet been made known.
