WELLINGTON'S PROGRESS.
Wbllingtok, This day. In the course of his response to lie toast of " The Counoil's Officers" at the civic banquet, Mr J. E. Page, tho Town Clerk, quoted some interesting figures illustrative of the progress made by Wellington since he took office in the Corporation service twelve years ago. During the period that had elapsed the population of the city had iuoreased from 12,000 to 20,000, and the ratable value fri.m £100,000 to £308,000. The entire revenue during the twelve years had been £500,000, and the amount spent on street construction was £80,000, on waterworks £210,000, and on reclamation £66,000.
