COMMITTED FOR TRIAL,

Chbistohubch, This day. Tillet, arrested last week for robbery under arms, was committed for trial to-day on cix charges—three of stealing a horse, saddle, bridle, and gun, and three of obtaining food from people in the Greendale district by threats and producing a gun. All the charges were admitted.

Frank Masters was to-day committed for trial for indecent assault on a girl eight

years of age. Accused has served previous sentences for indecency, and on his last appearance before the Supreme Court the Judge warned him that if ho came before him again charged with the same offence he would receive a very severe sentence.

At the agricultural show to-day a fierce •wind spoilt the pleasure of the visitors. Tho attendance was only average. The Governor and euito were entertained at a banquet on the ground. The butter exhibits are exceptionally good. Fresh butter, Mrs G. Milne first; fancy butter, Mrs Milne; salted, Mrs A. MoGregor. The cheese is also good. Tho Bruce Faotory took first prize for colonial cheese, and the Stirling Factory took the special prize for factory made cheese. The show, of draught horses is the best seen. British Lion took firht prize among tho entires in thoroughbndti. Lβ Loup beat Vanguard and Captain Webeter.
