A ton-roomed house outside tho borough, owned by Mr L. Smith, Wairarapa, and occupied on h-ase by Mr A. W. L. Cottrell, insurance canvasser, was burned with nil its contents last night. The family were away for a few days, and Mr Cottrell whs staying at an hotel. Insurance —On tlx3 furniture, £2;>o in the London, Liverpool, and Globe ; on the house, not ascertained.
