SIR GEORGE GREY AND THE HOME RULE SEAT.
Auckland, This day. With reference to the cable received this morning announcing thr.t a Home Rule seat would be offered to Sir G. Grey, he stated to a Star reporter this day tbat no iutiination of such intended offer had been received by him. He had uq communication oil the subjeot with either the Liberal or Home Rule leaders. He thought it posr sible, however, that something of the kind might be on foot owing to the number of electorates vow iv tlje Home Rule interest. He could not say what course he should adopt iv the case of tin ofj'ar. At any moment he might take hje contemplated trip Home, but at present his only object would bo to benefit his health.
