Tho Paroa Gold Dredging Company have ceased operations for tho present, id consequence of the sand cataract pump not quite answering expectations in lifting tho heavy gravel oir the beach. The Company will make alterations in the machinery by which the buckets will be worked in conjunction with the pump. In consequence of tho very heavy terminal charges proposed to bo levied by tho Railway Cominissi'jtiers on the Uobden Coal Creek and Point Elizabeth Coal Companies, the directors are in doubt as to whether CO go ou with the railway nt all.
