Inveecaegill, This day. Bishop Moran vias tho recipient of _ congratulatory address from. St. Mary's congregation last evening. In reply he said his mission to Europe had been very successful, resulting in', additional priests and teaching staff being secured. When at Rome he had an interview with the Pope, ' who made many enquiries as to the spiritual and material welfare of the Catholics of New Zealand, and warned them against the revolution and against secret societies of every kind. The Bishop told His Holiness the warning about the revolution was unnecessary, to Irishmen in New Zealand, as they abhorred it, while, as to sooret societies, they were not at all events much given to them..
