Messrs. F. W. Williams and Kettle report us follows:—We held our usual fortnightly sale of wool, skins, and produce at our wool storo at the Spit yesterday afternoon, when tho usual buyers were present, among whom competition was keen for the different lots of skins offered, and prices obtained were quite up to value, as much as 7d being obtained for good merino, whilo halfbreds brought up to 6gd. We regret, however, to have to report that this market for hides is at present very much depressed, lid te 2d being the highest prices offered for hides averaging 631b. to 571b., and we were obliged to pass in tho greater part of tho lots catalogued. Tho following prices were obtained:— Wool—Crutchings, good crossbred up to 4|d; odd lots of pieces and dead wool in bags, Hd te 43d. Skins—Crossbred quarter-woolled, 2jd to 3 : ] d ;do half■woolled, 3d to Gh,d; half bred half-woolled, 3M to 63d; merino half-woolled, Ggd to 7d. Tallow—Odd lots of tallow and fat, Id to 1-gd. Our next sale will be held on Wednesday, llth August.

Tho N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report as follows : —We offered a large catalogue of wool, sheepskins, hides, and fat at our usual fortnightly sale yesterday. Late prices were maintained. A few lots not reaching our valuations wero passed in. Wool—Greasy crossbred breeehings Bold up to fid. Sheepskins—Half-breds sold up to 6jd ; crossbreds up to s§d ; and crossbred hoggets up to s}d per lb. Hides— The market generally throughout tho colonies is still depressed. Wet salted heavies at our salo yesterday made 3d ; medium 2Jd ; light 2d ; yearlings 2|d per lb. Fat —Rendered 2d, rough IJd per lb. Our next sale will be held on tho 14th of August. MrH. P. Cohen reports ns follows :-- Considerably over 200 head of cattle and sheep were yarded at my sale at Taradale today. The attendance of buyers was largo. Fat Cattlo.—ln this class there was a full entry, most of which were of tho very primest beef. Heavy bullocks brought £6 10s; medium £5 17s (id to £6 6s; fat heifers £3 6s to £3 12s 6d ; fat oows £3 15s. Dairy Cattle.—Cows in full milk brought M 10s to £5; springers, £3 17s Gd to £4 15s; heifers springing, £3 10s; calves, 12s (3d. Sheep.—Fat wethers 12s Gd. Tho whole of the fat cattlo (70 odd) wero cleared at the above prices, satisfactory to vendors. The market is firm for this class, anything prime fetching fair figures Tho market for dairy stock is quiet and moving slowly with no perceptible increase in values. My next sale of stock will bo held at Stortford Lodge yards, Hastings, on Wednesday, August 14th, when I shall offer a splendid line of 70 fat bullocks, and other cattle.
