Wki.llnqton, This day. Dr. Newman will introduce Messrs. Fernandez, Maginnity, and Warren to the Governor this afternoon, when petitions in favor of Chemis will bo presented. The Minister for Justice will represent tho Government. The whole case will be finally considered by the Executive on Saturday. It is stated that some of tho evidence recently collated points to the tfuilt of the condemned man, while other facts ate inconsistent with that theory. Probably tho view I previously indicated will be followed —the dread sentence of the law will bo commuted to one of imprisonment for lifo. The case has c.reuted the greatest excitement in Wellington.
