The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (limited) have received the following cable from their Loudon office dated 28th uito. :—
Wool.—Since tho opening of the sales, superior greasy merino and fine greasy crossbred have advanced ".dper lb.; scoured has advanced -Jd to Id per lb.; other descriptions are unchanged. Competition by both Home and foreign buyers is active. Up to date 120,000 bales have been sold. Tallow is dull of sale. Good mutton and beef sorts ure worth 27s and 25s 3d i>er cwt. respectively. Quotations nominal. Frozen Meats.—The mutton and lamb markets aro firm. Canterbury mutton is worth GJd per lb., and Wellington _\d per lb. Canterbury lamb is worth Sid per lb. The beef market is sluggish ; fore-quarters aro worth per lb. and hind-quarters Id per lb.
