The Union Company's agent has kindly decided to delay the departure of tho launch for the Maruroa going South to-morrow evening till 7 o'clock.
Our artesian water should in all cnees bo strained or filtered before iwny;. At the R.M. Court this morning, beforo Captain Pr?eee, R.M., Jnmes Trainer and George J ackson were charged with having on tho 12th March at Paimerstou North, forged an order for the payment of £31. At the request of tho police the accused were remanded to the Palmerston R.M. Court. — Frederick Graham and David Carraichael, charged with drunkenness, and on hail, failed to appear. Their bail wan estreated. Malcom MoNicoll, charged with drunkenness, was fined 5n and custs or 48 hours' imprisonment. A prohibition order was applied for in thin case, and granted, to have effect in the licensing districts of Napier, Petune, Meanee, Olive, Taradale, Hastings, and Havelock. Hie Honor the Chief Justice will hear the Karainu case to-morrow, and bankruptcy matters will be taken aftor that is concluded. Tho following players will represent tho Napier Cricket Club in thu match to-morrow with the Hawke's Bay County : —ltd wards, White, I-'niin, H. Miirtin, H. Nwan, Kuudall, Spivey, Mountier, Humphries Freeman, and Howard; emergencies, 11. i'annJß, and W. Smith.
Our correspondent at Dunedin wires this afternoon :—" A mass meetiug of Masons i< to be held at Dunedin to-night. I believe 'he proposal for the formation of a United Qr md Lodge will be agreed to by a substantial majority."
