DuNEDiN, This day.
The weather was magnificent, for yesterday's holiday. All the raaritinio excursions were largely patronised, nearly one thminnu.l going toOamaru by tho Wa'liora. Tim Caledonian sports were a ff.>ndeil l-v mi nine thousand persons. Noel, who was in grand form, won tho principal event, the Caledonian Handicap, winning the 120 yds event, and finishing second in the final distance (350 yds). His prize money amounted to £2G. Houston was second, and M'Cabe third. Wintrup won the threo mile walking race, and Thomson tho mile race in a moat hollow fashion. Tho weather to-day is glorious
