Farthing Bids at Wool Sales.
YELLING, HISSIKG, AND SINGING INDULGED IN. FOREIGN BUYERS OPPOSE THE INNOVATION. [pEB PEKSS ASSOClATlON.—conriuotn-.] London, Novembci 27. Before tho wetol sales commenced to-day the buyers hold a meeting, and it was resolved to leave the room if the woolbrokers insisted on farthing bids. Tho importers' committee met afterwards and insisted on farthing bids being received for wool up to lOd in value. On this decision being announced tho majority of tho buyers left, their seats, but remained in tho room. The auctioneer attempted to sell, but very few bids were received. Ultimately ho was compelled to discontinue the sale in causaquonce of tho yelling, hissing, and singing indulged in by some of those present. Further meetings are tei bo held to-morrow to decide what course shall be taken with respect to farthing bids. The number of bales available is 157,000, including the ear«-o of the Balmoral Castle. ° November 28.
