Owing to tho rain it was impossible to begin the gamo to-day. SHIPPING AND WHEAT. Arrived—Steamer Worcester (Lyttolton Juno J.) . "Wheat has advanced sixpence. An Australian July shipment in an iron bottom has boon sold at thirty-seven shillings. HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN. The Queen will visit Baden in tho autumn for tho purpose of availing herself of the mineral baths. Her Majesty has been suffering lately from an injury to her knee sustained somo time ago. MISS GORDON GUMMING. The name of Miss C. F. Gordon Cumming, tho well-known authoress, lias been placed on tho civil list to a pension of fifty pounds per annum. HANDSOME PRESENT. The British women havo presented the Queen with a magnificent diamond neoklaeo of elaborate design in commoration of the jubilee of Her Majesty's reign. TERRIFIC STORM. A torrific storm was experienced over tho greater part of England during the last twenty-four hours. It was more severely felt in London and t.lio eastern counties. It is feared the crops will suffer serious damage. FOUR PERSONS CRUSHED TO DEATH. Munich, August 2.. During a procession through the streets of the city, in which a number of elephants were taking part, tho animals broke away, and rushed the crowd. Four persons were crushed to duath in tho stampede.
