THE MOKAU CLAIMS.
Auckland, This day.
The Mokan land claims commissioners sat yesterday in the Supreme Court buildings for the purpose of taking evidence. Jndgo Wilson deposed to having heard the application for granting a lenso to Mr Jones, but it was declined, on the ground of insufficiency of survey. Messrs T. Morriii and James Russell were also examined ns to certain statements made in the House. Tho commissioners proceed to-day to Otorohanga to tako the cvidenco of somo natives.
