Dibbs, member for the Murrumbidgee, gave notice of motion of a direct vote of censure on tho Government in connection with their action in dealing witfi tho Chinese question. The motion requests the withdrawal of tho Chinese bill iutroduced by tho Government. As the motion is considered ono of want of confidence in tlte Government the House tit once adjourned. At the anti-Chinese demonstration tonigfit it was resolved to petition the Legislative Council to pass the Chinese Restriction Bill. flio Council of the Federated Seamen's Union have decided to request all maritime organisations to substitute European instead of Chinese labar, aud also that the owners of the San Francisco and Chinese bents should be requested to do the same. Adelaide, May 22. Tho Hon. S. Playford, Premier aud Treasurer, has communicated by cablo with ' &it Harry Atkinson, Premier of New Zealand, asking if that colony can be represented at tho Chinese conference by a member of the Executive Council.
