Sydney, This day. Resolutions have been passed by tbe Chamber of Commerce and the Royal Geographical Society, asking that tho Imperial Government should accord Mr Bevan some tangible recognition for theadvantages accruing to science and commerce from his important explorations in New Guinea.

In the House last eveniug the Treasurer stated that the centennial celebrations in January last cost i'2G,OOO.
