A motion has been submitted to Congress ! requesting President Cleveland to procure autonomy for Samoa. THE POPE AND THE IRISH CLERGYt Rome, April 24. His Holiness the Pope has instructed the Bishops in Ireland to order the clergy to abstain from taking part in any illegal meetings in that country, and also to avoid - connection with any secret or political societies.
