FRENCH WINE DUTIES.

Basis, March l">. In spilo of the opposition of the Government, tho Chamber of Deputies has by a large majority agreed to a motion for the abolition i.f the wfne duties _ By this action a lo<-s of 160,000,000 francs is caused to tne revenue. The motion proposed an increase of the dirty on alcohol. A subsequent motion to that agreed to by the Chamber of Deputies, abolishing the •wine duties, was tabled, proposing an increase Of duty on alcohol. After considerable dismission the latter motion was rejected, thas upsetting the committee's whole scheme. GENERAL BOTJLANGER. The dismissal of General Boulanger from L the command of the Thirteenth Army Corps W at Clermont Ferrand is generally approved. General Boulanger publishes a statement that his visit to the city in disguise was in oonsequenco of his having received news of his wife being seriously ill, and that ho had been refused leave to visit her. TARIFF CONFERENCE. Brussels, March 16. •Seventy different countries will be represented at the Tariff Conference. .Austria, : -Germany, and France, however, will not be represented. It is proposed to publish the tariffs of the world in the French, English, German, and Spanish languages. PRINCE OSCAR OF SWEDEN'S MARRIAGE. ■ Stockholm, March 16.
