In spilo of the opposition of the Government, tho Chamber of Deputies has by a large majority agreed to a motion for the abolition i.f the wfne duties _ By this action a lo<-s of 160,000,000 francs is caused to tne revenue. A subsequent motion to that agreed to by the Chamber of Deputies, abolishing the •wine duties, was tabled, proposing an increase Of duty on alcohol.
