Messrs C. B. Hoadley and Co. report as follows:—Yesterday afternoon -we held our fourth wool sale of the season at our Spit atore. The attendance was good, but owing to the irregular reports from Home the biddings throughout were spiritless, excepting for fellmongers' lots, which realised satisfactory prices to vendors. Our catalogue consisted of 123 _ bales and 15 pockets of scoured and greasy crossbred wool. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report as follows :—Wo held our fourth wool sale of the season at our Spit sale-room yesterdaj- morning. Our catalogue comprised 377 bales, 21 fadges, 70 ppekots, and 19 bags—in all 487 packages. The late conflicting telegrams reporting the close of the London February sales have had a weakening tendency on our market hero, and except for fellmongers' lots, previous values were not maintained, buyers operating with marked caution. Trade is reported sound at Home, with exports increasing, and it is to be hoped that tho causes which have so unexpectedly changed the course of tho late London sales, opening as they did so full of promise, may bo only temporary. Our next sale will be held about the end of this month.
