We learn as wo go to press that Sir Julius Vogel this afternoon apologised to Sir Maurice O'Rorke, tho Speaker, for his conduct in the House of Representatives last night.
Mr Ormond and Captain Russell will arrive overland to-morrow night from Wellington.
At tho Hastings licensing meeting, held yesterday in the -Athenajum, then; were 'T. Foreman (chairman), McEwen, Douey, and J. R. Elliott. The application of Mr Joseph Ellis, for a license for the Carlton Hotel, was considered. Mr E. H. Williams appeared for the applicant. The license was granted. The following renewals wore granted:—Pacific Hotel, Hastings Hotel, Railway Hotel, and Albert Hotel. "
